Overview
Large-diameter long-range HUGIN family AUV designed for unsupervised shore-to-shore survey, inspection, and defence missions over ranges up to 2,200 km.
HUGIN Endurance is a dual-use AUV platform developed by Kongsberg Discovery in Norway. It is the long-range member of the HUGIN family, designed for unsupervised shore-to-shore operations and persistent subsea data collection without a dedicated support vessel. It is positioned for geophysical survey, hydrographic survey, critical infrastructure inspection, mine countermeasures, and naval ISR, and is listed publicly as active. Published specifications captured in this database include a published length of about 10 m, a published depth rating of 6000 m, a reported range of about 2200 km, reported endurance of up to 15 days, and payload information covering HISAS 1032 synthetic aperture sonar, EM2040 multibeam, sub-bottom profiler, camera, laser profiler, magnetometer, environmental sensors, and configurable customer payload volume. The platform is described as autonomous / remote-supervised in terms of control and autonomy. Its concept emphasizes long-range autonomous survey, high-resolution seabed mapping, remote mission updates, redundant safety systems, and reduced dependence on crewed support vessels.

Notes
Kongsberg's datasheet lists HUGIN Endurance as the largest HUGIN family member at 1.2 m diameter and 10 m long; Kongsberg news releases describe sea-trial units as approximately 11 m and 7,000-8,000 kg. The product page and datasheet cite up to 15 days, 2,200 km / 1,200 nmi range, 1,100 km2 mapped area, and 6,000 m depth rating.
