Descripción general
Kongsberg's core HUGIN AUV, offered in 3,000 m and 6,000 m depth ratings and used worldwide for offshore and naval survey.
HUGIN is the core model of Kongsberg's HUGIN autonomous underwater vehicle family, developed with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment and long the reference deep-water survey AUV for offshore energy, navies, and search operations. It comes in two depth ratings: the 3,000 m version is about 5.4 m long and 1.2 tonnes, while the 6,000 m version has a larger 875 mm body, is about 6.2 m long and 2 tonnes, and carries 67 kWh of batteries for 65 to 76 hours at 3 knots with all sensors running. Both carry Kongsberg's HISAS synthetic aperture sonar and EM multibeam echosounder along with sub-bottom profilers, cameras, and environmental sensors, and swappable batteries allow quick turnarounds. HUGINs have mapped pipeline routes and seabed hazards worldwide and taken part in high-profile searches for lost aircraft and ships.

Kongsberg datasheets: the 6,000 m version is typically about 6.2 m long, 875 mm in diameter, about 2,000 kg, with 67 kWh energy, 65-76 hours at 3 kn with all sensors running, and 2-5 kn speed; the 3,000 m version is about 5.4 m long, 750 mm in diameter, about 1,200 kg, with 26.1 kWh and 27-32 hours at 3 kn. Kongsberg's current HUGIN family is HUGIN Edge, HUGIN, HUGIN Superior, and HUGIN Endurance, each listed separately here.
