Deepwater Kongsberg AUV with a 6,000 m rating, high-accuracy autonomous navigation, and an integrated survey sensor suite for commercial, scientific, and defense missions.
HUGIN Superior is Kongsberg Discovery's deepwater autonomous underwater vehicle for high-resolution commercial, scientific, and defense survey. The current official data sheet lists a 6,000 m depth rating, approximate length of 6.6 m, 67 kWh swappable battery system, endurance of 62 hours with the full sensor suite running or 76 hours under the stated HISAS, multibeam, and sub-bottom duty cycle, and speeds from 2 to 5 knots. The integrated payload includes HISAS 1032 dual-receiver synthetic aperture sonar, EM 2040 MkII multibeam, camera and laser profiler, sub-bottom profiler, magnetometer, CTD, and environmental sensors. Autonomous pipeline tracking, terrain-referenced navigation, collision avoidance, and in-mission MicroNavigation support high-accuracy unsupervised survey down to full ocean depth-class environments.
The current official data sheet lists an approximately 6.6 m length, 875 mm diameter, about 2,200 kg weight in air, 67 kWh swappable battery, and navigation accuracy better than 0.04% of distance travelled. A single numeric range is not published.
