Descripción general
Lockheed Martin's deep-water commercial inspection AUV, built to survey subsea oil and gas infrastructure to 4,000 m.
Marlin Mk3 is Lockheed Martin's commercial autonomous underwater vehicle for inspecting offshore oil and gas infrastructure, a market where ROVs tethered to expensive support ships traditionally dominate. Rated to 4,000 m, it carries a 44 kWh battery for up to a day of work and more than 100 km of travel per charge. A modular, plug-and-play payload architecture accepts multibeam, side-scan, 3D, sub-bottom, and synthetic aperture sonars as well as video, still cameras, and laser profilers, and the vehicle can switch between flying like an AUV and hovering like an ROV to build detailed 3D models of platforms and pipelines. Lockheed chose SeaRobotics to manufacture it in 2015.
