Descripción general

Chinese 500-tonne-class trimaran unmanned combat vessel with missile cells, torpedoes, AESA radar, and a UAV helipad.

JARI-USV-A, nicknamed Orca, is China State Shipbuilding Corporation's large unmanned combat surface vessel and one of the biggest armed USVs publicly revealed anywhere. The 58 m trimaran has a 23 m beam, roughly 2 m draft, and displaces about 500 tonnes. CSSC material credits it with 40 knots and a 4,000 nautical-mile range on a diesel-electric plant. The design resembles a miniature destroyer: an integrated mast carries an AESA radar, the foredeck houses vertical launch cells, angled launchers carry lightweight torpedoes, and a stern pad supports VTOL drones, with provision for launching underwater vehicles. A small bridge allows optional crewing during trials. The vessel was seen afloat at Guangzhou in late 2024 and is a major step up from the original 15 m JARI USV.
