Descripción general

Man-portable, roughly 3 ft drone boat developed for the US Navy under SBIR funding.

ADARO is a tiny uncrewed boat, about a metre long, that Michigan's SeaLandAire Technologies developed with US Navy small-business research funding. Light enough for one person to carry and launch, it is meant to extend the eyes of special operations teams, bomb-disposal units or Marines along a coastline, sending video and sensor data back over a satellite link. It drew attention in 2021 when it was photographed working with the littoral combat ship USS Oakland in the Navy's large unmanned systems exercise off California.

Notas

SeaLandAire developed ADARO under the Navy's SBIR programme as a man-portable, modular-payload vessel about three feet long for special operators, EOD technicians or Marines. In 2020 the Navy selected Get SAT's L-band electronically steered antenna for its beyond-line-of-sight control and ISR data link. It operated alongside USS Oakland during Unmanned Integrated Battle Problem 21 off Southern California in April 2021. A 2024 Navy SBIR Phase I award targets lower unit cost. Length is approximate.
