Overview

43.6 m uncrewed trimaran from CMN, based on its Ocean Eagle 43 patrol vessel.

The U-OE43 is French shipbuilder CMN Naval's uncrewed version of its Ocean Eagle 43, a slender 43.6-metre trimaran patrol vessel first built for Mozambique. Run entirely from a remote control centre ashore or aboard a ship, it is designed to patrol, deploy surveillance sensors and tow an anti-submarine sonar, for example ahead of a frigate or carrier group. The long, narrow trimaran hull gives high speed and range on modest power, and the deck can launch small drones.

Notes

CMN's brochure gives a 43.6 m length and 15.2 m beam and describes remote control from a shore or ship centre, with deployable surveillance sensors and an anti-submarine sonar for escorting frigates or carrier groups. The crewed Ocean Eagle 43, designed with Nigel Irens and built for Mozambique from 2015, reaches 30 kn with four Scania diesels and can operate a Camcopter S-100 UAV. Speed and range of the uncrewed version are not separately published.
