Overview

Compact 2,000 m electric ROV from Saab Seaeye for offshore inspection and light work.

The Cougar-XTi is a compact electric remotely operated vehicle from Saab Seaeye, rated to 2,000 m and widely used for offshore inspection, drilling support and light intervention. Six powerful thrusters let the 435 kg vehicle hold position in strong currents while it carries cameras, sonar, manipulators and tools such as cutters and cleaning brushes. Pilots get automatic heading and depth, with station keeping available when a navigation sensor is fitted. It is an updated version of the long-running Cougar-XT, one of the most common observation-class ROVs at sea.
