Overview
Two-person-portable 300 m survey and mine-hunting AUV from RTsys.
COMET-300 is a slim, two-person-portable autonomous underwater vehicle from France's RTsys, used for seabed survey and mine hunting. It can run for up to 20 hours at depths to 300 metres, imaging the seabed with high-resolution side-scan sonar and fixing its position with acoustic beacons and inertial navigation. Its mine-countermeasure version, COMET-MCM, is operated by the Republic of Singapore Navy from its minehunters.

Notes
RTsys literature gives a 150 mm diameter, 2.3 to 2.5 m length depending on sensors, a 300 m depth rating (some distributor listings say 250 m), up to 10 kn and up to 20 hours, or 12 hours at 4 kn. Positioning combines RACAM sparse-LBL, GPS, INS and DVL. The COMET-MCM variant detects, locates and classifies mines with side-scan sonar, swath bathymetry and a magnetometer; the Republic of Singapore Navy deploys it from Bedok-class mine countermeasure vessels.
