概述
U.S. Marine Corps program for an optionally crewed autonomous boat that carries and launches loitering munitions.
The Long Range Unmanned Surface Vessel is a U.S. Marine Corps program to give small Marine units their own autonomous strike boats in the Pacific. Louisiana boatbuilder Metal Shark is developing the vessels, roughly 11 m optionally crewed craft that travel long distances autonomously and launch loitering munitions against ships and land targets, then recover payloads without people aboard. They are designed to cooperate as a group and to launch smaller uncrewed boats, using collaborative swarming behaviours that grew out of the Pentagon's earlier Sea Mob project. Autonomy comes from Spatial Integrated Systems, now part of HII. LRUSV fits the Marines' concept of dispersed expeditionary bases that hold enemy ships at risk.

Metal Shark won a Marine Corps Systems Command OTA agreement in January 2021, with autonomy from Spatial Integrated Systems (now part of HII). The roughly 11 m length was reported by Inside Defense; range has not been published. Metal Shark also supplies crewed support craft based on its 40 Defiant patrol boat.
