概述
Chinese hybrid autonomous and remotely operated vehicle that dived to 10,908 m in the Mariana Trench.
Haidou-1 is a full-ocean-depth hybrid underwater vehicle developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Shenyang Institute of Automation with Harbin Engineering University and the Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics. The 3.8 m, 2,600 kg vehicle can run as a free-swimming AUV, as an ROV over a thin fiber-optic tether, or in a combined ARV mode that gives operators real-time, high-bandwidth video while the vehicle keeps its autonomy. An electric manipulator lets it collect samples and do light intervention at the bottom of the ocean. In 2020 it reached 10,908 m in the Challenger Deep, at the time a depth record for an autonomous vehicle, and completed eight dives deeper than 10,000 m for mapping, observation, and sampling in the Mariana Trench.
