Обзор

Wind-propelled autonomous surface vessel with solar-powered sensors and satellite telemetry for persistent ocean monitoring.

Oshen C-Star is a compact autonomous surface vessel developed in Plymouth, United Kingdom, for persistent ocean observation and maritime monitoring. The manufacturer publishes an indicative hull length of approximately one metre and endurance of six or more months, with wind propulsion, solar power and Iridium SBD satellite communications. NOAA operates C-Stars on hurricane-monitoring missions to measure weather and ocean-surface conditions. The numbered Oshen PD vessels in NOAA telemetry are individual deployments of this platform.
