Turkish swarm-capable fast USV whose kamikaze variant sank a target ship in a coordinated eight-boat attack.
ALBATROS-S is a 7.2 m wave-piercing uncrewed surface vessel from Turkish defence electronics group ASELSAN, designed from the start to fight in swarms. Its low-signature monohull displaces about two tonnes, a stern-mounted diesel drives it above 40 knots, and it can operate for more than ten hours carrying around 250 kg of sensors or explosives. The kamikaze version carries a warhead of roughly 200 kg developed by Roketsan. In October 2023 the Turkish Navy demonstrated the concept off Mersin: a Bayraktar TB2 drone found a 22 m target ship, a swarm of eight ALBATROS-S boats moved in under coordinated autonomy, and one armed boat struck and sank it within minutes. It was one of the first public demonstrations of a combined UAV-USV swarm attack.

Reported figures: 7.2 m length, 2 m beam, about 1,955 kg displacement including about 250 kg payload, 40+ kn, more than 10 hours endurance. A 200 nm range (converted to 370 km) appears in only one source. On 8 October 2023, off Mersin, a swarm of eight Albatros-S cued by a Bayraktar TB2 attacked a 22 m target, and one armed boat sank it.
