M48 is Magnet Defense's 48 m autonomous surface vessel for sustained military operations in open-ocean and contested environments. Magnet's current platform specification lists a 17,000 nautical mile range, converted here to about 31,484 km, 15 knot cruise and 27 knot burst speeds, 100 tonne payload capacity, four 40 ft ISO-container positions, and 210 tonne displacement. DriveAI provides autonomous navigation and mission routing, while modular payloads support integrated air and missile defense, ISR, anti-submarine warfare, electronic warfare, contested logistics, search and rescue, and fleet resupply. Magnet states that production of the first deliverable M48 began in 2026 following extended operation of its research-vessel prototype hull.
