Ikhtisar
Singaporean 16 m modular combat USV used by the Republic of Singapore Navy for patrol and mine countermeasures.
VENUS 16 is ST Engineering's 16 m unmanned surface vessel and the backbone of the Republic of Singapore Navy's USV force. The 5 m-beam craft displaces roughly 22-26 tonnes, cruises at 25 knots, sprints to 40 knots, and runs for more than 36 hours. Its autonomy suite fuses radar tracking, vision-based obstacle detection, and chart data for collision detection and avoidance, autonomous waypoint navigation, and screening or blocking manoeuvres. Swappable mission modules turn the same hull into a maritime-security craft with a 12.7 mm remote gun, laser dazzler, and long-range acoustic device, or into a mine-countermeasure vessel that tows sonar and deploys expendable mine-disposal vehicles. Singapore's new Multi-Role Combat Vessels are designed to carry and recover a force-protection Venus 16 variant.
