Saab Seaeye's all-electric work-class ROV, built to replace hydraulic vehicles offshore.
The eWROV is Saab Seaeye's all-electric work-class remotely operated vehicle, designed to do the heavy offshore jobs traditionally done by hydraulic ROVs. Eight electric thrusters push the 3.5-tonne vehicle at more than four knots and let it lift 3,000 kg, while removing the hydraulic power pack that can leak oil into the sea. Rated to 3,000 m, it carries manipulators and tooling for construction support, inspection and repair.

2,850 x 1,800 x 1,900 mm, about 3,500 kg launch weight, rated to 3,000 m. Eight SM14 electric thrusters give about 1,200 kgf in each axis; speeds are above 4 kn forward, 3 kn lateral and 2 kn vertical. Saab says its power exceeds a 200 hp hydraulic ROV while avoiding large volumes of hydraulic oil. Figures are from the SR20 data sheet as reproduced by a distributor.
