The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology operates research ships, deep-sea observatories, crewed submersibles, ROVs, and AUVs for ocean, Earth, climate, and biological science. Its KAIKO lineage achieved a historic 10,911 m Mariana Trench dive and continues as a heavy-work research ROV program.
