Descripción general

Saab's widely operated autonomous acoustic target that reproduces realistic submarine signatures for advanced anti-submarine-warfare training.

AUV62-AT is Saab's torpedo-sized autonomous acoustic target for anti-submarine-warfare training. It follows a programmed scenario while its transducer tail and payload generate selectable active echoes and passive noises, tonals, modulations, speed dependencies, and prerecorded signatures that mimic different submarines. The system supports training from initial detection through tracking and engagement, including live torpedo exercises, and provides post-mission analysis for debriefing. Saab publishes a 4.5 m length, approximately 800 kg mass, 300 m operating depth, submerged speeds from 3 to 12 knots, and more than 18 hours of endurance at 3 knots. Its service with multiple navies makes it a notable fielded military AUV rather than a laboratory target.
